The Centre for Maritime Archaeology at the University of Southampton is a world leader in Maritime and Underwater Archaeology and represents the UK as a founding Member and former Chair of the UNESCO UNITWIN Network for Underwater Archaeology.

Our maritime archaeologists have worked closely with UNESCO to set the standards of best practice to safeguard underwater heritage and to disseminate our findings to the public.
