A new on-demand travel service is launched at Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site

January 27th 2025

An 'on-demand' travel service has been launched at Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site in Shropshire. The new service, operated via an app, provides tailored travel recommendations for visitors and offers guidance on the most suitable travel options.

The service is designed to improve mobility by offering flexible pick-up and drop-off locations, tailored to the individual. As well as traditional fixed bus stops, the app will also have virtual stops across a wider area that are shared with the user through the app and based on their location – often resulting in less distance to walk and more convenient pick up and drop off points.

The launch is a pilot program that, if successful, will be rolled out to other areas in Telford & Wrekin. The app is available for download from both the Apple App Store and Google Play
