The Compute for Climate Fellowship is a global research and development (R&D) funding programme that provides essential funding and technical resources to startups developing AI-powered solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The Fellowship was founded in 2023 by the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI), under the auspices of UNESCO, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Each Fellow company accepted into the program builds a groundbreaking proof-of-concept (PoC) climate solution that is funded by AWS, with technical and scientific advisors from AWS and IRCAI.
For 2025, they are significantly expanding the programme, offering up to $4 million in AWS credits in funding up to 20 startups worldwide with at least up to $200K in AWS cloud computing credits each, along with expert mentorship from IRCAI and AWS.
