Proposals sought from designers to develop visual identity guidelines for the Inventory of Living Heritage in the UK.

February 3rd 2025

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and UK National Commission for UNESCO (UKNC) are seeking a designer to develop a comprehensive set of visual identity guidelines for the Inventory of Living Heritage in the UK, a key requirement of ratification of the 2003 UNESCO Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention.

The visual identity will guide the development of a new website, and dedicated pages for each inventory within a unified UK platform. Additionally, the identity will be applied to a range of assets, including consent forms, application processes, information sheets, fact sheets, and PowerPoint presentations, in relation to the Inventory of Living Heritage.

The design must account for the unique structure of the UK, which comprises four countries - England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales - along with the possible inclusion of its Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies. Each of the nations will have its own inventory, which will be part of a United Kingdom inventory.

Closing Date for submissions - Tuesday 18 February 2025.
