The map brings together the UK’s 31 World Heritage Sites, 14 Creative Cities, 10 Global Geoparks and seven Biosphere Reserves in one accessible resource. From internationally important landscapes and historic places to centres of creativity, science and innovation, it offers an introduction to the extraordinary breadth of the UK’s UNESCO network.
Use the map to plan a day out, a longer journey or a summer staycation, and to discover remarkable places that may be closer to home than expected. Many are free to visit and accessible by public transport.
The map was originally produced by the UK National Commission for UNESCO through its Local to Global programme, with support from the GREAT Campaign and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery players. It was updated in 2026 to reflect the continued growth of the UK’s UNESCO network.
