The report is the result of a partnership between GEM Report and the Research Consortium for School Health & Nutrition; an initiative of the School Meals Coalition, led by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. The report embraces a multi-sectoral approach, which engages education to deliver effective nutrition interventions.

The report calls for efforts on food literacy to transform into a lifelong learning pursuit, from early childhood to adulthood, including non-formal and informal learning
