Local to Global: Audience Development & Mapping Toolkit

John Carmichael     –     16 September 2024

Local to Global appointed The Audience Agency to work with site coordinators to produce a toolkit for UNESCO sites in the UK to support them in audience development planning, stakeholder mapping, and inclusion.

This toolkit is primarily aimed at those who work at UNESCO designated sites in the UK.

While best practice has been drawn from across the UK UNESCO network, the toolkit will also be of interest to stakeholders in natural, cultural and built heritage sites across the UK and internationally, and other initiatives looking at partnership and place-based approaches.

Activities and suggestions are designed to provide a starting point and inspire new ways of working. They can be scaled up or down to suit different settings and available resources. Users can work through the toolkit from start to finish, or dive straight into the individual sections.

This toolkit was produced by the UK National Commission for UNESCO in collaboration with The Audience Agency as part of its Local to Global project, made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players.
