The Applicant Stages
Our process is designed to assess how best we can help women-researchers progress their careers. Unlike most other academic grants, we focus on how to help scientists both professionally and personally. Flexibility is our priority.
A team of multi-disciplinary readers with relevant scientific expertise will review all eligible applications. Readers have been appointed on the recommendation of renowned institutions and are globally recognised experts in their respective fields. Two readers will assess each application.
The top five candidates from each discipline (based on highest aggregate reader scores and comments) reach the next stage. A jury panel of senior scientists carries out the shortlisting via roundtable discussion. Ten* candidates from across the disciplines are then selected for the shortlist.
Each of the final ten candidates will deliver a ten-minute presentation on their research proposal, followed by 20 minutes of questions from the Jury Panel. The top five candidates are then selected as ‘2021 Rising Talents’ – one for each award discipline.
